Coombs Carpentry is a small business located in Newcastle NSW owned and operated by Mark Coombs, a carpenter with nearly 10 years industry experience.

Coombs Carpentry has been actively trading in Newcastle for the past 3 years and are looking to expand our team.

We subcontract for large companies and direct clients based in Newcastle & Sydney and cover all aspects of carpentry. A young and enthusiastic team completing a range of carpentry projects including but not limited to new builds and renovations

We are after someone who is looking to continue their career in carpentry in either their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year as an apprentice carpenter. We are also seeking fully qualified carpenters.

This person will have their own vehicle, drivers licence, white card, and tools of the trade.

Qualified carpenters will need a great understanding of all aspects of carpentry, we cover a wide scope of works including new prefabricated frames/trusses, single story and double story, stick build frames and hand pitch roofs, eaves/cladding, fix out, decks/pergolas, bathrooms and all types of renovations.

Apprentices wanting to further their career with us must have a fantastic attitude with a willingness to learn and develop their skills.

- Knowledge in carpentry techniques
- Understanding of Australian standards/building codes

- Be physically fit for the demands of the role
- Good sense of balance and ability to work at heights
- Good decision making and problem solving skills
- Able to read and follow plans
- Understanding of correct PPE and ability to work safely

**Job Types**: Full-time, Subcontract, Casual, Apprenticeship

**Salary**: $40,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

- Overtime pay

- Newcastle, NSW: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Education**:

- High School (Year 9-11) (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Carpentry: 1 year (required)
