- MONEYCARE- Moneycare is The Salvation Army’s national financial counselling and financial capability program. It is one of the largest and long-running such programs in Australia. Our evidence-based outcomes measurement process shows that we have a real impact on the lives of the people who come to us seeking assistance through materially improved mental health, personal well-being and financial resilience, including financial hardship alleviation. Moneycare has a focus on holistic, strengths-based services that are professional, caring, and missional.
We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive Microfinance Intake Worker to provide Microfinance services to individuals and families.
You will successfully
- Provide microfinance services to individuals and families by undertaking loan interviews face to face, utilizing a client focused, strengths based approach.
- Communicate and work collaboratively with all relevant TSA expressions about the service generally and specifically about individual community members as needed
- Provide equitable and efficient delivery of the program
- Build financial capability and resilience for community members to manage their money better and make informed choices, but not extending to financial counselling, financial advice options, or complex financial or legal matters.
- Manage arrears and follow up community members not currently paying their loan or experiencing financial difficulty and related issues repaying their loan
You will have
- Minimum 6 months’ experience in welfare/community services environment
- Tertiary qualifications in a related area
- Understanding of the issues such as addictions, mental ill health and disabilities
- Experience with community based microfinance
- Demonstrated ability to work with different cultures and backgrounds
- A Valid Working with Vulnerable People Check
- A willingness to undergo a National Police check
