Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the mighty Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel plants, and contracted wind and solar energy. We also provide electricity and gas to about 1 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy. Snowy 2.0 is Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
An exciting opportunity exists for a Safety Business Partner to join the team and partner with managers and site teams to assist with the efficient and effective implementation of the Health and Safety Management System across the Snowy Hydro operations. In this role, you will be highly skilled in Risk Management, Incident Investigation, Behavioural Safety, Education and provide practical operational solutions in all aspects of Health and Safety. A background in construction and/or utility generation would be strongly regarded.
**Your key responsibilities in this role will include**:
Provide coaching, mentoring and technical advice to stakeholders (including Contractors) in support of achieving Health and Safety objectives and deliverables.
Support the development and continuous improvement of Snowy Hydro's safety strategy, initiatives, policies, processes and standards governance framework to meet best-practice industry standards.
Assist managers to promptly and appropriately conduct and resolve incident investigations and use findings to mitigate future risks.
Ensure SHL complies with all regulatory safety requirements
Support internal governance processes such as project delivery framework and audit and assurance programs of works
**We're looking for someone with**:
Certificate qualification in Health and Safety and minimum 5 years of experience in a safety role
Exceptional customer service focus and ability to develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders and manage multiple projects at the same time
Strong foundation in risk management principles
Extensive experience in Safety Management System review and implementation
Knowledge of the Harmonised Work Health and Safety Act, Regulation and Code of Practice
ICAM lead investigation qualification and experience desirable
Experience and qualifications in workplace training & assessment and/or occupational hygiene would be highly regarded.
