Downer's Road Services business is one of the largest non-government owned road services businesses in Australia. We operate from a network of over 40 depots and maintain more than 30,000 km of road. We have an opportunity for a talented **Commercial Manager** to join our **Roads Services **business based in Eastern Creek. Reporting to the General Manager, Major Projects and Commercial, you will take charge of managing aspects of our **contractual, legal and risk management** obligations across our portfolio of works for NSW & ACT.

The other complementary half of this role will focus on identifying all commercial and technical risks associated with the preparation of bids, as well as ensuring that all projects secured are adequately resourced to ensure **strict commercial compliance** in accordance with the terms of the contract and Downer's Project Management Methodologies.

**About you**
- Ideally you will be degree qualified in **Business/ Law /Engineering/Quantity Surveying,** with a successful track record of commercial management.
- Exposure to **Civil Projects or Heavy industrial sectors** would be highly **advantageous**.
- Demonstrated understanding of contract terms and conditions, alongside a familiarity of standard industry forms of contracting and their operative effects.
- Exposure in the commercial and legal issues impacting business and the **delivery of projects.**:

- Strong financial **reporting skills **and the ability to analyse financial information.
- Ability to produce and present plans, proposals or recommendations as they relate to **commercial / legal matters to management** in a clear concise and coherent manner.
- Negotiation and **influencing** skills to achieve desired outcomes;
- Developed analytical and planning/prioritisation skills
- Build and **maintain effective relationships** with both internal and external clients & stakeholders
- Operate across the business through open communication and engagement. Work effectively in teams to identify and improve processes
- Strong safety focus with demonstrated evidence of actively promoting and sustaining a Zero harm environment
