Receive structured training in Melbourne for 6 months, accommodation paid for.
- Attractive base salary + work vehicle + phone/laptop + tools
- Career progression opportunities with a national company and industry leader
**About CDK Stone**
For over 40 years, CDK Stone have been providing total support to the stone industry. We are not only renowned for importing and selling high quality natural stone and a premium range of tools and equipment, but we install, service and maintain a wide range of industrial CNC stone processing machinery for customers across Australia.
Our reputation is not only due to the high-end machinery and quality service we provide, but also our ability to train, support and develop people from outside the industry. With a history of hiring and developing engineering graduates and progressing them in the business, we are now looking for our next wave of Graduate Mechanical Technicians to join our service department.
**Why You Want to Work Here**
- You will be joining a company with a structured week to week training program and have the opportunity to work with industry experts. We have built a strong team of technicians who are eager to mentor and develop the next generation of talent and with time, you will become a fully autonomous engineer that is a national expert in servicing these machines.
- We have a growing team of Graduates who were once in your position with no industry experience. You won't be the only person beginning your journey in this industry, and will have support from a close-knit team to guide you along the way.
- You will not only be learning the knowledge and skills, but be given the work vehicle, phone, laptop and tools to get the job done. Given our national presence, you will also go on paid interstate travel to other branches across Australia.
**About You**
- Although you may have learned about different Mechanical Design software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD, you prefer playing around with physical and tangible components. Rather than drafting together designs, you are looking for a practical role that allows you to work with your hands.
- You have always enjoyed situations that allow you to solve problems and work with your hands. That’s why you initially chose engineering in the first place: to pull things apart, understand how they work, and put them back together again.
- In your spare time you love doing the odd job at home using using your hands. Whether its re-painting the walls or installing new cabinets in your kitchen.
**About the Role**
Across your first 6 months, you will travel to and live in Melbourne and go through a structured training and induction program at our national head office with accommodation and expenses accounted for. You will then be able to move back to your home state and join the established team in Western Australia.
As part of the role, you will work closely with Senior Technicians to:
- Develop your skills and knowledge across a broad range of machines and across a number of industry brands, including; GMM, Burkhardt and Thibaut to name a few.
- Assist Senior Technicians to effectively maintain machinery across VIC and WA
- Conduct root cause analysis, fault-finding and diagnosing efficient solutions to machine breakdowns.
- Execute the installation process from pre-site inspection, overseeing the delivery of machines, assembling the machines through to training end users.
- Take part in the ongoing training and development program as part of your role to become a true industry expert.
- Act as a key point of contact for the customer, you will represent the brand and communicate with key stakeholders from Production Managers to small business owners.
**Selection Criteria**
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to be able to tick the list below.
- Interested in a hands-on role working with machinery
- Current and unrestricted driver’s licence.
**What’s Next**
If you are interested, please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining why this role is the one for you.
Respectfully, only successful applicants will be contacted.
