**Department Overview**: As one of only a handful of companies that design and manufacture High Frequency (HF) and Very High Frequency (VHF) radio communications systems for military and commercial organisation globally, Barrett Communications (a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions) are constantly innovating and solving the communications challenges our customers face in some of the most inhospitable locations around the world.

From our extensive Bibra Lake facility, in the Cockburn Commercial Park, the Electronics Technician will be part of the Supply Chain Team, manufacturing, testing, and repairing Barret products to export to our customers around the world.
**To test and repair electronic components and associated hardware to produce the Barrett range of products.
- Scheduling test and inspection tasks based on product requirement determined by the Production Manager.
- Repair of final assembly boards that have failed through the automated test jigs.
- In the case of the requirement to substitute components, to investigate and determine that the specifications on the replacement components fulfil the design requirements. This function will at times involve liaison with the team.
- Ensure that test and inspection records, including serial numbering, are kept in accordance with management requirements.
- In the case of substandard or faulty production of metalwork, PCB's or any assemblies manufactured by sub-contractors, to liaise with the Production Manager to rectify the faults.
- Provide information to the Production Manager regarding faults caused by incorrect components being supplied in kits, to enable changes to be made to bills of materials.
- Maintain the appearance of test and inspection as a tidy and organised area.
- Ensure that test equipment is maintained to the required standard.

**Basic Requirements**:

- 5 years’ experience in an electronic production facility in the position of Production/Electronics Technician.
- Electronics Trades Certificate is highly desirable.
- Extensive experience with surface mount soldering.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics.
