About Radiation Oncology at Austin Health

At the Olivia Newton John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre (ONJ Centre), within Austin Health our patients experience world-leading cancer care, complemented by a comprehensive suite of wellness programs to support our patients in body, mind and spirit. The ONJ Centre is a comprehensive cancer centre encompassing Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, ONJ Research Institute, cancer and palliative care wards and a unique Wellness Centre. The Radiation Oncology department operates 3 Elekta Linacs with XVI and Brainlab ExacTrac imaging, 3D & 4D Cone Beam CT (IFI), ABC breath hold and HexaPOD 6DOF couch. Treatment planning is supported by the Elekta Monaco RTPS with MOSAIQ patient management software. We provide comprehensive Superficial X-ray, Stereotactic and Brachytherapy programs. We are committed to providing a service that embraces new technology, new techniques and new ways of treating each patient so that the best outcome can be achieved. We’ve installed and operating an Elekta Unity MR Linac and 1.5T Philips Ingenia Ambition MRI for RT Simulation supporting a full MRI workflow for radiotherapy patients state-wide.

**Permanent Full time / Part Time (1.0 EFT)**

**12-month Fixed Term (0.8 EFT)**

Additional to the attributes of the Grade 4 Radiation Therapist this project position will focus on the development of the radiotherapy technique using the Elekta Monaco treatment planning system and MIM auto-contouring software. A “template” workflow will be developed as a class solution that can be adapted to personalise therapy. You will collaborate with the medical physicists to develop a quality assurance workflow to ensure the safe delivery and reliability of the VMAT Total Body Irradiation technique.

**Requirements for this role**
- Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Radiations or equivalent
- Current registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner with Australian Health Practioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or hold a qualification and have the clinical experience necessary to be eligible for registration
- Hold a current Victorian Radiation Use licence, or hold a qualification and have the clinical experience necessary to be eligible for such a license
- Rostered shift duty, overtime and on-call service may be required
- Salary is in accordance with the current Allied Health Professionals Enterprise Agreement.
