**About the Role**
LOCATION: L O G A N
** _We are seeking a sharp minded, experienced support worker that has knowledge and understanding on ASD. We have multiple participants that range from having complex needs to complex behaviors and would benefit from a support worker that is quick on their feet and able to 'read-the-room'._
- At our participants request, we are looking for an experienced support worker that is able to engage in activities of interest (e.g. arts and crafts, going to the park or arcade, listening to music and dancing etc.), CLEAR English communication abilities and had a calm and warm nature._
- Please note that some of our participants have multiple Conditions that can cause them to act erratically - and become both verbally and physically aggressive._
- Prompting/Assisting participant to tend to his Personal Cares
- Prompting/Assisting with medication
- Light household duties
- Redirection / de-escalation experience
- Maintain critical thinking and problem-solving abilities throughout shift
- Must be proactive and take initiative
- Working autonomously to provide appropriate levels of support to maintain and improve the participant's level of independence
- Great communication skills
- Work within the NDIS Code of Conduct
- Ability to work in partnership with NDIS participants to achieve their goals
- A passion for assisting individuals who struggle with a disability to improve their quality of life

**Requirements**:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who holds a minimum of a Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent) **and/or** a minimum of 2 years of experience with Mental Health and the following qualities:

- Working with children card (Blue card)
- NDIS Worker Screening check (Yellow Card)
- Current CPR and First Aid Certificates
- Current Police Check
- Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Driver's License
- Registered personal vehicle with comprehensive car insurance and a willingness to use for transporting clients (when required)

**Additionally, you will need**:

- Clear _Verbal and Written_ Communication
- Critical thinking with the ability to problem solve - knows how to take initiative
- Have a basic understanding of Autism
- Experience with LVL 3 ASD _(not essential, but highly desired)_

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $35.00 - $38.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Morning shift

Supplementary Pay:

- Penalty rates

**Experience**:

- ASD: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid and CPR Certification (required)
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card) (required)
- Driver License (required)
- NDIS Screening Check (Yellow Card) (required)
