**The Fern Hampton Park** located on Hallam Rd, provides care for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years in a thoughtfully designed, state-of-the-art facility that ensures a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment. Our centre features a commercial kitchen where our on-site qualified chef prepares fresh, nutritious meals daily. The facility’s design seamlessly integrates open play spaces, encouraging children to explore and connect with their natural surroundings. Equipped with a wide range of learning resources, children are provided with numerous opportunities to discover and enjoy.

About the Role:

- Assist with food preparation under the direction of chefs and kitchen staff.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils, ensuring all kitchen equipment is clean and ready for use.
- Keep the kitchen, workstations, and storage areas clean and organized.
- Assist with stock rotation and inventory management as needed.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe kitchen environment.
- Previous experience as a kitchen hand or in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle physically demanding tasks.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices is a plus.
- Knowledge of halal cooking guidelines
- Understanding of the Long Day Care dietary guidelines
- Knowledge and understanding of cooking for children with allergies, medical conditions and varying dietary requirements
- Understanding of the Long Day Care dietary guidelines
- To be aware of National Quality Standards
- To have highly developed organisational skills
- To have excellent communication skills

Qualification:

- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (Health & Community HLTFSE001, HLTFSE005, HLTFSE007) **Current First Aid qualification including Anaphylaxis and Asthma**:

- Current Working with Children Check (employee)

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $23.23 - $39.12 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Rotating roster
