Family Safety Worker Job in Sydney

**Responsibilities**:
**About the Role**

The Family Safety Worker provides intake and assessment, support, case management and referral for the partners/ex-partners and children of the men attending the Men’s Behaviour Change Program, Choosing Change.

The role is responsible for identifying current and ongoing risk and safety of clients, undertaking assessment of needs, making referrals, and providing ongoing case management.

**About You**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology or equivalent field
Desirable:
a) Completion of or willing to undertake training in DV Alert and or ECAV DV-60
b) Practical skills in responding to people who experience domestic & family violence & DV-624
c) Developing professional judgement in safety planning interventions for families experiencing domestic & family violence
- Demonstrated experience and skills in providing person centred counselling support and case management services (mostly via telephone) to women and children experiencing Domestic and Family Violence
- Demonstrated experience in:
a) Post Separation counselling
b) Trauma informed practice model
c) Responding to and intervening in Domestic & family violence impact and safety
d) Mental health; Alcohol and other drugs and grief and loss counselling
- Demonstrated experience and skills in working with Cultural and Linguistically Diverse Communities and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities
- Demonstrated ability to appraise and critically reflect on clinical work and participation in clinical supervision
- Current Working with Children Check
