**What you'll be doing**

You will provide technical pre-sales assistance, technical advice and architecture of data platform and analytics projects.

Considered an expert in this space, you will produce and refine architectural artefacts, collaborate with technical teams and advisory to ensure consistency, efficiency and quality of technical solutions.

You will develop data architecture artefacts that support strategic and operational decision-making, as well as getting hands-on with technologies to trial, test and verify capabilities and solutions.

**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Deep knowledge of how to design, implement and optimize ETL processes, conduct detailed data modelling, design data warehouse architectures, and design and build data pipelines
- Previous experience performing data engineering roles with primarily cloud-based PaaS and SaaS platforms.
- Professional exposure to modern/cloud data-centric platforms and infrastructure - including enterprise data warehouses/data lakes, master data, integration platforms, data virtualisation, reporting/data warehousing and advanced analytics platforms (ie, Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks etc).
- Experience in development of Solution Architecture for Enterprise Data Platforms.
- Understanding of patterns, techniques and principles relating to enterprise integration, data warehousing, data hubs, data virtualisation and advanced analytics solutions.
- Expertise in data visualization tools, e.g., PowerBI/Tableau/ Qlik, etc.
- Understand, explain and evangelize buzz words such as serverless, cloud native and PaaS and how they impact the design of Data Platforms
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with an ability to distill complex and/or technical problems.
- Distill business requirements and translate into technical solutions for data systems including data warehouses, cubes, marts, lakes, ETL integrations, BI tools or other components.
- Strong knowledge of replication processes and change data capture processes.
- Optimize platform to provide optimal performance under increasing data volumes.
- Understanding of data governance within an organization.
- Deep experience in one or more data modelling methodologies.
- Be comfortable with code or tool-based data pipelines and understand the pro and cons of each.
- Understanding of DataOps and CI/CD patterns and the advantages this brings.

**Mandatory skills**:

- Data Engineering:_
- Develop new solutions on Cloud platforms with a focus on PaaS or Serverless components.
- Proficient in a scripting or programming language: Python, Scala, R or C#.
- Experience in developing data pipelines to transform and process data
- ETL /ELT tool experience
- Proficient in SQL and SQL optimization
- Experience with SQL-based and NoSQL technologies
- Hands-on experience working in complex data warehouse implementations.
- Ability to visualize data via common dashboarding tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.
- Data Architecture:_
- Design new solutions on Cloud platforms with a focus on PaaS or Serverless components.
- Demonstrated experience of converting business requirements and use cases into technical solutions.
- Ability to define conceptual data models from business processes.
- Proficient in Kimball data modelling and ETL/ELT techniques.
- Experience with big data and data streaming into a data platform.
- Understanding of data security considerations and standard data security controls.

**Desirable to have**:

- Advanced Analytics:_
- Experience with Azure Data Lake.
- Experience with Snowflake.
- Experience with Databricks.
