**The Team**
The AEC Security Team provides support to the broader organisation on all matters relating to the protective security in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and agency specific security policies and procedures. This is a busy and challenging role where your expertise will enhance the Physical Security and Governance outcomes for the AEC.
**The Opportunity**
The _Security Administrator/Officer _assists the Protective Security team to provide strategic and operational protective security support and advice to the AEC management and staff in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) specifically related to Personnel Security. In this role you will be involved in the development, and monitoring of security related policies and procedures and systems.
This role reports to the Assistant Agency Security Advisor.
The _AEC Command Centre Watch Officer (WO)_ is a key member of the Command Centre (AECCC) operations, responsible for providing information analysis and preparing and maintaining reports for executive briefing products. The WO monitors and maintains situational awareness on operational incidents, events or restrictions that may impact the current operations of the agency. Under the Guidance of the Senior Watch Officer, the WO will participate in the creation of training, rehearsal, and exercise programs to ensure staff proficiency and capability is developed and maintained.
During Events like Federal Elections, the AECCC and Protective Security hours of operation will be extended outside standard business hours, with staff working across shifts. An elevated work cadence will be vital over extended timeframes with the Watch Officer acting as Senior Watch Officer on one of the shifts to assist in instilling command centre best practises for briefings, handovers, processes, and relationship building with other business areas.

- Provide timely analysis of information that supports evidence-based decision making
- Assist the team in the delivery of Security Awareness Training to new and existing employees
- Support the facilitation of operational and security Incident Management
- Foster strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, building understanding and commitment to support the successful security uplift and integration of the AECCC.
- A demonstrated ability to work autonomously and a strong commitment to working harmoniously within a team to achieve positive results and support the AEC’s strategic direction.
