**About the role**

As the Principal Legal Counsel for TAFE NSW property and construction matters, you'll be at the forefront of providing invaluable legal advice to key stakeholders and internal teams, including TAFE NSW’s property and infrastructure teams.

**Your role will be instrumental in**:

- advising on, drafting and negotiating a broad range of property, construction and commercial agreements and transactions, including with respect to leasing, licencing, procurement and property divestment, investment and transfers; and
- advising on relevant legislation, regulations, directions, policies, standards and codes relating to TAFE NSW property, construction and commercial matters, including assisting in the preparation of Ministerial briefings and determinations under Part 5 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (NSW).

**About You**

Given the role's integral nature within our team, the ability to work collaboratively is fundamental, along with supporting key internal and external stakeholders and contributing to the development of internal processes, policies and procedures. Effective influence and negotiation skills will be essential, given the need to work on a broad range of complex property and construction projects and transactions involving multiple stakeholders and parties.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Holds a current legal practising certificate in NSW.
- Significant and demonstrated experience in property and construction law.
- Ability to address and meet focus capabilities as stated in the Position Description.
