About the role

The primary purpose of this role is to provide high quality counseling to family members and significant others who are impacted by another’s AOD misuse. This position works across two sites of Alcohol and Other Drug Services Western Australia 4 Days Perth Metro Site and 1 Day Gosnells Site.

You will successfully
- Demonstrates knowledge 0f AOD Sector including role, context, principals philosophies policies, regulations and legislation.
- Understands and applies AOD models, approaches, theories and practices when dealing with clients
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the impacts of addiction upon individuals, couples, families and wider communities
- Uses appropriate information, tools and techniques to gather and analyze information; Identifies and prioritizes appropriate actions including referral
- Knowledge of the physical, emotional, psychological and behavioral impact of trauma and abuse
- Demonstrates knowledge of mental health and recovery sector including context, principles, philosophies, policies, regulations and legislation
- Supports individual Alcohol and Other Drug Service Western Australia clients to set and achieve goals through establishing and monitoring an individual treatment plan; Identifies and implements a treatment plan process appropriate to the needs of the clients
- Clients are assisted to access support services and establish community supports, and where needed are assisted through advocacy with service providers
- Accurate, up to date client records and data is maintained for all clients in accordance with TSA standards and procedures using TSA information systems
- Risks to clients, staff and TSA are identified and bought to the attention of the Bridge House Manager as soon as possible
- Service gaps are identified and recommendations for service delivery improvements are made to the Bridge House Manager

This is a casual position, located in Highgate, WA. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Level 5 award.

You will have
- Tertiary qualification in either social work, AOD counseling, psychology or related field.
- A degree qualification is strongly preferred
- Relevant experience in AOD is essential
- A Current WA Drivers licence
