**Position Description**:
Bright Beginnings are seeking a passionate and reliable Therapy Assistant to join our growing team, working under the supervision of a Certified Behaviour Analyst. This role involves delivering one-on-one support to children aged 2-10 years across a range of settings, including the home, clinic, daycare, and school.

As a Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in implementing positive behaviour support plans and teaching essential skills that promote the independence and wellbeing of the child. You will be following evidence based procedures to support the development of communication, social, emotion regulation, and daily living skills.

There is currently one opening in Crows Nest for a weekly 1.5 hour therapy session to be held on Friday afternoons. Further opportunities with other clients available after a 2 month period.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Engage in purposeful play and build strong rapport with children to support learning
- Deliver therapy sessions to children aged 2-10, as guided by an individualised plan
- Implement behaviour support plans and skill development procedures under supervision
- Collect data and session notes to monitor progress and inform program development
- Attend regular training and supervision meetings with a Certified Behaviour Analyst
- Work collaboratively with families, educators and allied health professionals

**Applicant Essential Criteria**:

- Experience working with young children (e.g. in early childhood, education, therapy, or support roles)
- Strong play-based engagement skills
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport with children and families
- Openness to learning and professional growth
- Reliable transport and valid driver's licence
- Flexibility to travel to clients’ homes, daycares, and schools
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)

**Applicant Desirable Criteria**:

- Currently studying or completed a degree in Education, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, or a related allied health field
- Experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) or Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
- Previous experience supporting therapy programs under supervision of a therapist
- Understanding of child development and neurodiversity (e.g., autism, ADHD)
- Basic data collection and session note-taking skills
- First Aid and CPR certification

**Position Remuneration**:

- Hourly rate of $40-45 based on experience and qualifications, plus superannuation
- Travel reimbursement of $1 per kilometre
- Late cancellation reimbursement of 50% of the full session fee
- Bi-annual remuneration reviews with opportunities for progression

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
