Bistro Supervisor

We are one of the Dandenongs most popular attractions, situated on top of Mount Dandenong, with fantastic city and mountain views. A magnificent English style garden, barbecue areas, maze and function rooms; our work environment is envied by all around us.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate bistro and function supervisor to join the team during an exciting period of growth. We are looking for a full time supervisor to join our wonderful team of 4 managers, 5 supervisors and over 80 staff.

At least 2 years previous experience in a similar role is preferred, along with a strong background in hospitality. SkyHigh restaurant is very busy and at times a team of up to 14 staff are in operation so it is a great opportunity to advance your skills. The job is for 5 days a week and 40-45 hours a week.

About The Role:

- The supervisor will assist / support with function and event managers and bistro manager where necessary and facilitate the smooth running of the cafe, bistro and events.
- Planning of shifts, adjusting rosters, briefing and debriefing of staff
- Controlling the flow of customers into the restaurant at night
- Ensuring bottlenecks are cleared quickly by moving staff from one section to another
- Relationship management - managing our loyal customers and ensuring the highest levels of customer service
- Meeting with staff to ensure staff development and resolution of conflict
- Phone sales - Ensuring bookings are taken promptly and full communication is given to all departments
- Work closely with the head chef and bistro manager to ensure service is quick and customers are happy

About You:

- You are not afraid to push for improved service and train an effective team
- You are confident to co-ordinate up to 15 staff at a time in multiple areas
- An understanding of a high volume cafe or big function venue would be beneficial. You will have worked in either a catering company, restaurant group, venue or hotel previously
- You will have an Australian Driver's License
- You are proficient with excel, word and Outlook and prior exposure to a restaurant booking systems such as OBEE would be an advantage
- You love working in a friendly team environment
- You have excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
- You will have a willingness to multitask
- You have an eye for detail and an appreciation of great food and service
- You are hardworking and have a positive, enthusiastic attitude

**Salary**: $63,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
