Position Title: Health Information Support Officer - Emergency Department
Classification: HS1
Salary per hour (exc. super): $29.58
Hours per fortnight: up to 76

**Role Description**

The Health Information Support Officer plays a critical role in Bendigo Health's Emergency Department (ED), supporting a dedicated team of professionals including medicine specialist doctors, critical care trained nurses, nurse practitioners specialising in emergency care and physiotherapists with expertise in urgent conditions. Supported by technical and other administration staff, the role incorporates a wide and varied selection of responsibilities, the main focus of which is registrations and admissions of patients presenting to the ED along with documentation/data management to ensure all relevant patient information is correctly stored in the patient's digital/electronic record.

**Hours Available**

The Health Information Services teams operates 24/7 with hours currently available across three shifts: 7am to 3pm / 3pm to 11pm / 11pm to 7am. The team also operates 365 days per year with a requirement to work on public holidays as rostered.

**The Team**

The Finance and Resources Division is responsible for financial functions, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, performance monitoring and analysis, together with our procurement, materials management and facilities management functions. The division also includes Health Information Services with key roles in medical record management, clinical documentation, freedom of information, and external data reporting requirements. These are essential non-clinical services providing high-quality support, advice, monitoring and compliance functions. The team are focussed on delivering the strategic vision within their responsibilities and on assisting the organisation operationally.
