**About the Role**

As the Cardiothoracic Surgery Registrar, you will play a vital role in delivering specialised surgical care within a high-acuity clinical environment. Working closely with senior consultants and multidisciplinary teams, you will provide supervised operative and perioperative care to cardiothoracic patients, contributing to the assessment, management, and treatment of complex surgical cases. Your role will also include participation in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, multidisciplinary meetings, and after-hours rosters.

This position offers the opportunity to further develop your surgical expertise while contributing to teaching, training, and clinical research. You will be expected to maintain accurate medical documentation and support junior medical staff, all while delivering patient-centred care. The role is ideal for a registrar seeking advanced experience in a dynamic and high-performing cardiothoracic unit.

**About You**

You are a dedicated medical professional with a strong foundation in clinical care and a particular interest in cardiothoracic surgery. You demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Hold medical qualifications registrable with AHPRA and possess demonstrated experience in perioperative management of cardiothoracic surgical patients.
- Exhibit a high standard of clinical practice, integrity, and effective communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and adapt to changing clinical environments.
- Sound understanding of quality improvement principles and the rights and responsibilities of patients and their families.
