**About Barwon Health**

Barwon Health is the major regional health provider for the Barwon South West region. It is one of Victoria’s largest regional health services with one of the busiest hospitals in the state, University Hospital. We serve over 500,000 people through the efforts of over 8,000 staff and more than 1200 volunteers. We provide care at all stages or life and circumstance through a wide range of services from emergency and acute to mental health, primary care, community services, aged care, and subacute/rehabilitation. Care is provided to the community through over 28 key locations throughout the region.

**SWARH**

South West Alliance of Rural Health (SWARH) is a virtual organisation within the south west of Victoria, Australia covering 60000 sq kms from Melbourne to the South Australian border, from the coast to 150 kilometres inland. SWARH services all the ICT requirements of its 50 or more members and customers. SWARH members comprise of public hospitals with customers being non-government organisations, community health centres, bush nursing agencies, medical clinics, pharmacies and other government organisations.

**About the role**

Reporting to the Director ICT Strategy and Planning, this role ensures the effective security of SWARH’s electronic information assets via the development and management of an enterprise information security strategy, underpinned by robust framework, systems, standards, procedures and controls. Whilst developing and leading a security conscious culture, the Information Security Manger will work with stakeholders to adopt and embed security compliance measures to enhance SWARH’s security posture.

With an existing comprehensive program in place to uplift Cyber Maturity across the Barwon South West region the Information Security Manager is responsible for leading the delivery of this important program utilising both external vendors and internal skills. Cybersecurity is seen as a crucial function within the organisation and is well supported by senior executive leadership and governance.
