Melba Support Services is actively recruiting for an Injury Management Coordinator on a 12-month Fixed Term Part Time basis. This is a Hybrid role working from home and any of our locations including Lilydale, Scoresby, Ballarat or Morwell.

We are on an exciting transformational journey with the aspiration to be a world leader in the provision of disability support services. As part of this we are working to ensure that our RTW function is able to play a supportive and impactful role is supporting injured workers back to work.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Participate in incident investigations for lost time and possible common law claims to document the incident, identify the root cause and make recommendations
- Coach managers and supervisors to develop their knowledge and understanding of worker’s compensation and RTW obligations
- Ensure RTW Plans are developed in consultation with the injured employee, treating health practitioners, manager, rehabilitation provider (if appointed), and that these plans are formally documented and provided to relevant parties
- Assist injured employees in accessing Melba’s early intervention programs and/or worker’s compensation claims
- Lodge worker’s compensation claims and relevant documents to the WorkSafe agent, within the legislative timeframes
- Monitor the progress of the injured employee's recovery and RTW planning, ensuring ongoing communication is maintained between all relevant stakeholders
- Participate in claims reviews, ensure the agreed actions and strategies are implemented

**About You**
- 3+ years’ experience in similar role with a comprehensive understanding of worker’s compensation
- Relevant experience in the non-for-profit or community sector an advantage
- Ability to effectively lead the coordination of worker’s compensation claims management processes and early intervention strategies
- Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to lead, persuade, negotiate, consult with, and provide advice on worker’s compensation claims
- Ability to plan, schedule and work autonomously to achieve required outcomes within specified deadlines/time frames
- Analytical problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information and issues
- Highly proficient in the use of technology; Microsoft products, claims management software (Elumina - QuickClaim desirable)
