Replacement Laboratory Technician

**Role Description/Criteria**

**OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE**

The Laboratory Technician collaborates with and assists the College Laboratory Manager and Learning Leader - Science in the efficient management and administration of the science laboratories on each campus.

The Laboratory Technician performs duties as directed by the Learning Leader - Science, working independently with little supervision to perform responsible tasks associated with the efficient operation of the laboratory. The Laboratory Technician reports directly to the Learning Leader - Science and the College Laboratory Manager.

**MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY**

The responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician include but are not limited to:

- Providing support for teaching staff within the Science Faculty;
- Preparation and maintenance of the Science Laboratories;
- Ensuring Occupational Health and Safety guidelines are maintained within the Science Laboratories;
- Assisting with financial elements of the Science laboratories;
- performing other duties and implementing decisions as requested by the Principal, Science Learning Leader or College Laboratory Manager.

**SALARY REMUNERATION: According to the CEMEA 2022, $62,471.00 - $71,742.00 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation.**
