- Driving is required for children's activities, and a car will be provided.
- Nanny Immunisation Requirements: Whooping cough, COVID-19, and Meningococcal (all strains).
- Pet Dog - A Cavoodle, is energetic and playful, so the carer should be comfortable around dogs.
- Extra ad-hoc hours may be required on weeknights and weekends.
Our professional, busy, and easy-going Rhodes-based family is looking for a warm, trustworthy, bubbly, reliable, and attentive long-term nanny with a childcare background. We seek someone who is caring, active, creative, organized, clean, and able to take feedback constructively. Both parents work from home frequently, so it's essential that the carer respects the family’s lifestyle and supports their parenting approach.
The ideal nanny will take a proactive role in creating fun and educational experiences for the children and will have experience caring for children of a similar age. The nanny should utilize positive reinforcement, being gentle but firm. Seek a nanny who is creative and can expose children to new experiences and activities. A bubbly and warm personality is essential. A caring nanny who has the children’s best interests at heart and can contribute positively to their growth. It is important that the parents can trust the nanny and maintain open and honest communication.
The nanny will focus on both children, with responsibilities shifting depending on the priorities of the day. In early 2025, the eldest child will attend preschool 2 or 3 days a week. Until then, the main focus will be on the older child in the mornings, engaging them in fun and educational experiences, such as outdoor play, visits to the park, the library, and trips to the museum, zoo, and other activities. The nanny will also be responsible for driving the older child to swimming, sports, and gymnastics classes, using the family’s car for these activities, as well as running occasional grocery errands, walking the dog, and handling light household duties when possible.
Nanny Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Organizing and planning creative and educational activities for the toddler
- Ensuring a safe and hygienic environment
- Preparing and tidying up meals for the children
- Attending swim lessons
- Collaborating with parents to support the children’s growth and social development
- Maintaining all aspects of the care routine for the children
- Providing ad hoc support for casual events

- A full valid driver’s license (car provided)
- Non-Smoker.
- Ability to swim
- A minimum of 5 years of full-time experience working with children in Australia
- A minimum of 2 Australian-based child-related references
- Current Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain ASAP)
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain ASAP)
- Current National Criminal Record Check (or willing to obtain ASAP)
- Excellent communication skills
Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 - 50 per week
