Drumkit/percussion - Music Tutor

The Music Tutor is responsible for supporting the recruitment and retention of students in the orchestral and contemporary music spaces requiring percussion. They are also expected to foster strong connections with all music students in both the Junior and Senior Schools.

Whilst we are seeking a Tutor with strengths across both drumkit and tuned percussion, ability and interest to teach an additional instrument would be beneficial to increasing your teaching load at the school.

This role is calculated at **1 day a week**, with the teaching and ensemble component needing to be **undertaken on a Thursday**. This role will also involve time allocated to supporting the technical delivery of events across our busy calendar.

Experience working in sound, lighting or general crewing for Music events would be advantageous.

Capacity to work the following events throughout 2025 would be ideal and would be negotiated at the interview stage.
- The St Michael’s Community Festival, Saturday March 29
- The Soiree Festival, Saturday May 31
- Virtuoso Solo Performance Concert, Thursday June 26
- Music at the Centre (Melbourne Recital Centre), Friday August 15
- Junior School Spring Concert, Tuesday November 11
- St Michael’s Celebrates (Palais Theatre), Monday December 1
