**The Opportunity**:
A permanent full-time position is available for a Youngstock Technician to join our innovative and dynamic youngstock facility at Ladysmith. This is a hands-on role as part of an enthusiastic team that are passionate about the wellbeing and care of our cows, you will be involved in all aspects of health checks and treats to weighing and vaccinations.
This opportunity provides secure long-term employment, working with our small tightknit team in a safety-driven environment. This position is for a highly motivated, reliable person, who has an eye for detail and is committed to work health and safety. You will be encouraged and supported to complete National Competency Accreditation in loader and skid steer and other training as required
**About AFMH**:
AFMH operates multiple sites across eastern Australia. Dairy operations are located at Moxey Farms in Gooloogong, NSW, as well as Coomboona Farms in Coomboona, VIC. In addition, AFMH operates Ladysmith Farms a young stock operation near Wagga Wagga, NSW.
**Key accountabilities include**:
- Daily checks and treats of heifers
- Identification of health conditions and administering of treatments as required
- Assisting with animal movements which include: moving of pens, loading and unloading of heifer trucks
- Other general housekeeping as required
- A motivated and positive work ethic with good time management skillsGood communication skills with a strong team spirit and a commitment to attendance and punctuality
**The Successful Applicant**:
- The ability to follow protocols and adhere to safety standards
- Livestock experience
- Q Fever immunity, or must be willing to gain the Q Fever vaccination
- Covid VaccinatedDriver's licence and own transport
