Driveline Services Australia is an Australian owned and operated automotive aftermarket company specialising in the manufacture, export, import, supply and distribution of a comprehensive range of underbody parts and services for passenger, performance, 4WD, truck, bus, agricultural and mining equipment. We are a growing company with 40 years of industry experience that now operates twelve branches stretching along the eastern seaboard of Australia from Townsville to Melbourne and across the country to Perth.
The company is currently seeking an experienced Computer Numeric Control Setter for our Head Office facility in Acacia Ridge, Queensland, to help us continue to grow as a key supplier to the Australian mining, automotive and transport industries.
This position will be involved with studying drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations and machine settings, fitting and assembling fabricated metal parts and subassemblies into products, assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce equipment, checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments, setting guides, stops and other controls on machining tools, setting up prescribed cutting and shaping tools and dies in machines and presses, forming metal stock and castings to fine tolerances using machining tools and diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines. Qualifications needed are a Certificate IV or equivalent mechanical qualification or at least four years full-time experience.
The successful applicant must have previous mechanical and CNC workshop experience and be a motivated and energetic individual able to work productively with others in a hands-on, small team environment and be flexible, self sufficient, practical and able to meet deadlines.
Training will be provided as required, however the ability to learn quickly and work unsupervised with a positive work ethic is essential. A proven ability to safely and consistently produce quality workmanship is a priority. You will also require full-time working rights in Australia, a high standard of attention to detail, the ability to manage your time effectively and be willing to follow all company and Work Health and Safety procedures. A valid Australian manual vehicle licence is highly desirable.
