**YOUR ROLE**

As the Executive Manager, IIA Portfolio and Underwriting Management - SME, Agriculture, and Personal Line, you will drive the performance of our Short Tail portfolios by leading and empowering Managers in Portfolio and Underwriting. Your role is crucial in establishing and monitoring underwriting governance frameworks and policies that align with IAG Group’s strategic objectives.

You will set and refine underwriting appetite, ensuring it supports our growth ambitions across the Intermediated Insurance Australia (IIA) division. Working with the EGM, Underwriting & Portfolio and other stakeholders, you will define guard rails and underwriting parameters to achieve optimal portfolio growth and margin.

Your responsibilities include managing reinsurance risks, supporting strategic portfolio management, and ensuring that our underwriting practices lead to sustained excellence and profitability. Additionally, you will work closely with the Executive Managers of Pricing, Product, and Insurance Risk to manage insurance risks effectively.

This is a unique opportunity to lead a team of technical experts, uplift their capabilities, and embed a culture of continuous improvement in underwriting performance across the division.

This position is permanent, and you can be based in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne.

**ABOUT YOU**
- Demonstrated ability to manage complexity, ambiguity, and respond to change effectively.
- Strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of pricing, underwriting, and insurance risk and portfolio management.
- Proven leadership skills with a track record of optimizsing team performance and fostering a customer-centric environment.
- Extensive experience in general insurance, leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Insurance, or related fields, with additional industry qualifications (e.g., ANZIIF).
