Metro Hotels and Apartments is currently looking for a friendly and professional Maintenance handy person to join our team. Keeping our hotel running smoothly is vital to our guest's experience - as our Maintenance Handyperson you’ll keep everything looking sharp and running, undertake upkeep and repair tasks at the interior and exterior of our hotels. From simple repairs to forward-thinking for the next day. With naturally high standards to support your own, you’ll approach every task with dedication and pride. You'll be required to perform routine & preventative maintenance and cleaning for the Hotel's equipment and facilities to ensure they operate efficiently, which will include minor repairs, maintenance of guest rooms, public areas and lighting. Hands on job, can do attitude and technical knowledge along with being well-organized with strong general repair skills will be highly regarded.

We are looking for a reliable Handyperson to undertake upkeep and repair tasks at the interior and exterior of our hotel. We'll rely on you to keep our facilities in perfect condition by doing various jobs as needed.

- Full time role with 38 hours guaranteed per week.

Reporting to the General Manager and their designated person, you will be responsible for:

- General repairs and maintenance throughout a broad range of areas within the Hotel
- Maintaining public areas in a clean condition
- Perform maintenance and light repairs
- Perform routine landscaping on the grounds
- Paint and fill gaps or crevices (on walls, sidewalks etc.)
- Repair equipment or appliances
- Get quotes, schedule and assist tradespeople with required jobs
- Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks
- Identify and report the need for major repairs
- Ensuring safety compliance
- Proven previous experience as a handyman/maintenance person
- Have a good understanding of building maintenance
- Good analytical problem solving and on the spot initiative
- Experience in all or some of the following: air conditioning, door lock systems, painting, tiling, plumbing, HVAC systems and general furniture repairs. In particular, plumbing and refrigeration/AC experience will be highly regarded
- Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment
- Excellent organisation, communication, time management and customer service skills
- Well-organized and apt in problem-solving
- Attention to detail
- Valid Driver's Licence
- First Aid certificate
- Good level of physical fitness
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends (when needed)

**Salary**: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Weekend availability
