**Job Summary**

We are excited to announce a rare position to be available at Baldivis’s premier pet boarding facility. Baldivis Boarding kennels is a unique, purpose built facility providing exceptional and luxurious care to an ever-growing client base. Our highly skilled team are passionate about ensuring each and every pet is provided with optimal care and love throughout their boarding experience.

We are seeking well-presented and ‘**experienced**’ person who is passionate about animal care and has exceptional customer service and verbal communication skills. The applicant must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task to a high degree. The position requires flexibility due to varying shifts including **split shifts on a daily basis**, weekends, school holidays and public holidays. Work hours vary anywhere between 0700- 1800. The successful applicant will work with both large and small dogs as well as cats.

**Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications**

**Essential skills/Requirements**:

- Current Full Driver’s license
- **Prior experience working in the animal industry** which could include: kennel hand, working in a vet practice, working with rescue groups ect. Unfortunately we do not count owning a pet as working with animal experience.
- **Must be within 20 minute drive of the kennels due to split shifts**.
- Excellent communication and organisation skills and the ability to engage with diverse range of people
- Previous animal handing, assessment, basic first aid and medication management
- Strong knowledge base in regard to animal behavior, diseases, treatments and the ability to provide informative advice to clients
- Ability to adhere to strict time restraints, adapt to unpredictable situations and possess strong decision-making skills
- Physical stamina due to physically demanding duties including cleaning.
- The ability to work independently and within team environment.
- Reliable, punctual and possess strong work ethic
- Confident and assertive communication skills dealing with clients and their animals face to face
- Provide compassionate and empathetic care to clients during sensitive situations
- Strong attention to detail and proactive attitude
- Accurate record keeping

**Favourable Traits/abilities**:

- Veterinary Nurse qualification
- Companion Animal cert III

**Job Type and Category**

Casual Animal Attendant Position - Average of 22 plus hours per week (with extra holiday cover)

Position to start as soon as possible
