Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a new Joinery Draftsperson to join our team. With a passion for joinery and cabinetry, you will be keen to learn new systems and processes, have a keen eye for detail and enjoy the creative side of technical drawing through to production. Experience in the industry is ideal, or if you a genuine interest in construction services and cabinet making, plus a natural ability to learn and develop knowledge and skills in new software and processes.

As part of Robert Plumb Collective, you will be exposed to premium architectural design projects, and be part of a well known team of experts.

Captive Cabinetmaking is a premium custom cabinetry business experienced in all types of bespoke joinery for residential spaces. Part of Robert Plumb Collective and its group of companies, we provide all types of joinery from simple solutions to more highly articulated interior designer-led treatments. Working directly with interior designers and architects, we are always keen to integrate new materials and develop interesting details.

We will be relocating to a new space in Botany, part of Robert Plumb Collective HQ, our project locations spread across metropolitan Sydney, including the Eastern Suburbs, Northern Beaches and North Shore.

About the role

Reporting to the Director, the Joinery Draftsperson is responsible for creating technical drawings based on design requirements and specifications, to enable the production of joinery in the workshop.
- Interpreting and evaluating architectural joinery plans
- Create technical drawings using Microvellum CADD software, linked to CNC machine
- Preparation of rough sketches by hand together with detailed plans using software
- Calculating and estimating materials
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Work closely with Joinery team to ensure project compliance
