Barista/all Rounder

We are Quest Coffee Roasters, a long established espresso bar and organic coffee roastery with a loyal community following in Burleigh Heads and the Gold Coast. We sell coffee beans and products in store, online, and wholesale. We are known for our top quality coffee, delicious in house baked cakes and treats, and friendly café service. We have an opening for an experienced Barista All Rounder for 38hrs per week (casual basis). Consideration for full time contract after 3 months.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Promotes coffee and food consumption by educating customers
- Welcomes customers by determining their coffee and food interests and needs
- Sells coffees and coffee grinding and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines
- Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, espresso, macchiato, latte, flat white and cappuccino
- Serving customers, clearing tables, and maintaining a clean work area.
- Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean and food ingredients supply
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following organisation standards and Food Health & Safety regulations

**ABOUT YOU**

**PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS**
- 2 or more years of recent experience as a professional barista.
- Consistent and well practiced latte art.
- Barista experience must be from cafe or coffee house
- Strong listening and verbal communication skills
- A strong understanding of Food Health & Safety

**NICE TO HAVE**
- Certification in Hospitality or related industry.
- Experienced in a fast paced cafe.
- Experience as a Cafe Manager, and or Opening / Closing Cafe.
- Food handling experience.

**PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Australian citizen or resident with an appropriate long term visa to work in Australia
- Availability to work at least 1 weekend day every week
- Availability to work shifts from 5am to 3pm if required.
- Loves coffee and tea
- Own transport to and from work
