We currently have an opening in the team for a **Part-time Keeper.**

**About the Role**

This role is a permanent part time position **minimum 20hrs per week.**
- Providing exceptional standards of animal husbandry and welfare
- Ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of Seal/Penguin exhibits and off display areas.
- Provide routine cleaning, maintenance and problem solving of Life Support Systems
- Participate in daily husbandry tasks, including training, enrichment, monitoring animal health, and maintaining accurate records.
- Providing engaging penguin presentations and guiding animal interactive programs.

**About You**

Essential
- At least 2 years’ experience with exhibited marine animals.
- Excellent public speaking and visitor services skills;
- Excellent observation and record keeping skills;
- The ability to swim confidently and be able to lift 20kgs; and
- Hold a valid Blue Card prior to commencement

Desirable
- Bachelor's degree in biology, zoology, psychology, related field or a certificate in captive animal management or similar.
- Current drivers’ licence.
- First aid or oxygen resuscitation training
- Experience with seals and penguins will be highly regarded

**Additionally, you are a strong communicator and are able to build rapport across the business. Your ability to multi-task and have a flexible and adaptable approach along with the ability to meet deadlines and have demonstrated planning, organisational and time management skills are desired.
