The Role:
The role of the Factory Technician is to coordinate maintenance duties for Aliview Group. The Position reports to the Engineering and Quality Manager and works closely with one more person in the team performing similar duties. You also need to be open to contribute to production as and when required.

Responsibilities & Tasks:
1. Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines
and the plant facility’s equipment.

2. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during
production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production
equipment during machine service.

3. Perform fitting duties including, but not limited to, mechanical fitting, pneumatic,
hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.

4. Good knowledge of presses, simple press tools & their operation. Troubleshoot
press related issues identified by team leaders. Coordinate the maintenance &
repair of simple trim & pierce tools as necessary.

5. Be able to perform simple welding & light fabrication tasks. Be proficient in MIG
welding as a minimum.

6. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required
maintenance and service

7. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments

8. Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant
facilities. Work with teams to implement TPM process for machinery.

9. Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.

10. Use a variety of hand and power tools as well as material handling equipment in
performing duties.

11. Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual
situations to proper supervision.

12. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

13. Research best practice and suggest improvements for plant equipment/processes.

14. Work with stakeholders to prioritise implementation of Maintenance requests.

15. Repair/ maintain office area as required in consultation with Leadership team

This role is a very hands on role and will suit some one who has a genuine interest in machines and tools. Its a busy role and will keep anyone challenged,

Normal day starts would be any 8 Hours between 6.30am - 5pm. Since it will be a 2 member crew, some rotation will be involved in terms of time and shifts. Flexibility available.

4. An understanding of issues when dealing with glass and aluminium, in the
installation of aluminium doors and windows, and/or the general process of
building homes would be an advantage.

5. Electrical knowledge & qualifications, CNC programming & operation experience,
along with a current forklift licence would be desirable but not essential.

6. Good general purpose handy-man skills.

7. Highly organised, with a strong ability to build personal relationships with
managers, process workers and other stakeholders.

8. Strong trouble shooting skills. Ability to review all situations faced & to resolve or
propose solutions.

9. Ability to organise projects and to follow through on project actions
