Our Assets and Infrastructure directorate is responsible for leading, planning, delivering and managing the development in Georges River Council including delivering new infrastructure and services as well as responding to residential, commercial and industrial growth. Our teams within the Assets and Infrastructure directorate include:
- City Operational Services
- City Technical Services
- Premium Facilities
- Strategic Placemaking
**About the Opportunity**
We have an exciting opportunity to come on board as the Strategic Placemaking Specialist, working to strategically improve our town centres and open spaces across Georges River Council. As the Strategic Placemaking Specialist, you will work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure Council’s assets are meeting community demand and expectations.
- Temporary 12-month contract, Full-Time
- Salary from $110,031.86 - $127,488.82 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation
- Lead and drive the delivery of innovative services that promote and support our community
- Located in Hurstville CBD - 5 minute walk from train station

**What We're Looking For**
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in town planning, urban planning, placemaking or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing projects to deliver place based, community focused objectives, including public domain guides and plans.
- Experience in cross collaborative projects and forming strategic partnerships internally and externally.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to liaise, negotiate, influence, and consult with a range of stakeholders face to face, digitally and in written communication.
- Demonstrated problem solving, lateral and creative thinking and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a united, collaborative environment whilst consistently displaying integrity, accountability, respect, and honesty.
- Proven success implementing significant change initiatives.
- Demonstrated commitment to EEO, WHS and ethical practice principles.
Desirable
- Asset planning and management experience
- Knowledge of the social, political, and legal framework within which local government operates and current developments and challenges for the sector.
