**The Company**
This business is a leading provider of reverse logistics and consolidated services to simplify processes for leading retailers who deliver total solutions for all store marketing, fit-out and equipment needs with mínimal disruption to their retail customers’ operations.
**The Role**
As National Freight Manager, you will report directly to the CEO and will lead a team of 5.
You will manage a freight budget which is predominantly spent on linehaul, and a small percentage on rail freight.
This role has more of a commercial edge than a traditional freight manager position and will involve conducting freight evaluations, running tenders for new carriers and exploring ways to optimize the existing carrier base.
Internal and external stakeholder management is a large component of this position, you will be continuously engaging with senior logistics leaders who sit in this organisation's customer base.
**Skills & Experience**
You will also have experience in the below:
- Proven success working with line haul carriers and achieving strong commercial outcomes
- Proven commitment to providing quality service for customers and a track record of hitting SLA's.
- Experience working with a complex freight network or a freight company that has a commercial arm.
- Experience working with non-standardized supply chains, such as last mile delivery services.
- Exceptional internal and external stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation, from operations right through to senior executive level.
