**The opportunity**

Vacenti is seeking a full-time Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor to join our hotel services team at our Marebello facility located at Victoria Point, QLD. Reporting to and working closely with the Group Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor and Facility Manager, this role you will ensure the seamless operation of the laundry and housekeeping departments at Marebello and foster an environment of cleanliness, orderliness and residents’ satisfaction.

Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor will serve as the first point of contact for all laundry and housekeeping queries. You will be creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for guest and residents, while also optimising operational efficiency and resource utilization. The Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor provides guidance and mentoring to all housekeeping and Laundry Staff in collaboration with the Group Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor & Facility Managers. The role is responsible for building and maintaining professional relationships with staff, management, residents and their families, and key internal and external stakeholders

**Your main responsibilities will include but not limited to**:

- Provide guidance and mentoring to a team of Housekeeping and Laundry Assistants.
- Communicate effectively with team members and ensure all changes to processes are communicated in a timely manner.
- Proactively monitor and make necessary adjustments to the service delivery model as required. Analyse and review to ensure cost effectiveness, quality and timeliness of service outcomes.
- Ensure Housekeeping and Laundry Assistants adhere to departmental policies and procedures & follow the safety and OH&S requirements.
- Maintain high standards of quality in housekeeping and laundry services at the facility.
- Ensure staffing levels/competency and equipment is appropriate to meet delivery requirements across the housekeeping and laundry department.
- Promote the safe use of equipment and chemicals amongst staff members.
- Escalate high level maintenance requirements relating to housekeeping and laundry equipment and premises, and following up to ensure prompt action has been taken.
- Manage the correct storage and control of all housekeeping and laundry equipment, chemical and other related products.
- Managing the budgets of the laundry and housekeeping departments
- Placing orders as required for the laundry and housekeeping department.

**To be considered, you will need**:

- Essential_
- Reasonable level of spoken and written English literacy skills.
- Previous supervisory experience in hotel services.
- A current National Police Certificate.
- A personal philosophy of honesty and integrity, and practical approach that is compatible with the Vacenti values.
- Some knowledge of Aged Care legislation including the Aged Care Quality Standards
- Proven team leadership skills and working knowledge of personal care and resident lifestyle requirements in Aged Care and continuous improvement, accreditation process, electronic housekeeping management systems and OH&S legislation.
- A positive team-based attitude.
- Has initiative and work independently.
- Can work in a busy environment and has good time management skills.
- Very high attention to detail and commitment to safe work practises.
- Willingness to adapt to a rapidly changing environment, learn and cross train.
