We are The Smash Room. Melbourne’s newest and most exciting event, based in Keilor Park.

We are looking for a driver to locate and collect smashables for our venue, such as TV’s, microwaves, glassware and other similar items.

The average hours for this role is between 7-15 per week. We don't monitor your hours; so if you can meet the requirements of the role in less hours, then that's perfectly fine with us, and we will still issue the full weekly payment.

The weekly payment will be $500

The job responsibility is to ensure that the venue does not run out of donated materials, so you will spend time to look for supplies such as hard-rubbish collection points, tips, scrapyards, opp shops and other locations, then collect and drop off items to the venue.

The items you will source and collect are:

- Glassware (beer bottles, wine bottles, drinking glasses etc.)
- Crockery (dinner plates, mugs etc.)
- Electronic items (TV's, computers, keyboards etc.)

You will be required to locate donation opportunities for the above items by contacting places such as opp shops, hotels, renovation companies, electronic technician and repair companies, local tips, recycling centres, and so on.

All the material you collect is clean and suitable for use, so essentially, the donated items you collect need to be ready and suitable for use by our customers immediately after they have been delivered.

You must be able to supply an acceptable level of smashable items each week which could be approximately 30 TV's, 20 microwaves, 20-30 slabs of empty beer botles and more.

You may also be asked to do other ad-hoc jobs from time to time, such as assisting the venue staff to unload bins into a skip or assist with rubbish removal from the venue.

The role is only applicable to people who are:

- Physically fit
- Able to lift up to 20kg boxes safely

In order to apply, you must have your own vehicle (either a van, ute or large wagon) that you will use.

You can be hired as an employee or as a contractor if you have your own ABN.

This role does not have separate travel reimbursement or petrol allowance. We have included the reimbursements into the weekly wage amount.

Working hours are flexible which is based on the needs of our donation partners. You will need to be available and flexible during the week to collect and drop off.
