Right at Home SNSW provides high quality in-home care and assistance to our valued clients in the Riverina and Central West. We support people living with Alzheimer’s, dementia and cognitive decline, disabilities, post-operative care needs and older Australians. Our services help clients remain safe and independent in their own homes. Our mission to improve the quality of life for those we serve.
**About the role**
We currently have a position available for a reliable and passionate Companion carer who enjoys gaming to join our team in **.** You will need to be friendly, positive and demonstrate client-focused behaviour, showing empathy and treating others with dignity and respect. You’ll also need to have a natural ability to build relationships that make a difference, be honest, helpful and dependable, making you a great asset to our team.
**Responsibilities will include**:
- Working within a person-centred, enabling environment that respects the rights and needs of each client
- Assisting clients with daily errands, companionship and support
- Providing support with academic, social or recreational activities
- Preparing food if needed
- Observe, care and report any changes in the health and wellbeing of the client
- Responding to emergency situations
- Working weekend and overnight shifts as rostered
**Qualifications**:
**Essential Criteria**:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to learn, develop and take on new challenges
- Current National Police Check
- Current First Aid & CPR certificates
- Current unrestricted driver’s licence
- Comprehensive car insurance (desirable)
