**Who we are**
Mornington Peninsula Cemetery Trust (MPCT) manages and maintains four cemeteries on the Mornington Peninsula located at Mornington, Dromana, Flinders and Tyabb. You will work within a small team to provide quality cemetery service operations that meet our community needs and ensure our cemeteries are maintained at a high standard.
The Trust is supported by the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council. The successful applicant would be an employee of the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council for the duration of their employment.

**How you’ll make a difference**
The Cemeteries Officer is responsible for the administration and support of all Mornington Peninsula Cemetery Trust cemeteries in line with the Department of Health guidelines and in accordance with the Cemeteries and Crematoria Act 2003 and the Cemeteries and Crematoria Regulations 2015.
The role also includes the scheduling and coordination of burials and cremated remains interments ensuring they are carried out without incident and in line with Cemeteries and Crematoria Act 2003.
As our Cemeteries Officer you will:
- Assist with the facilitation of bookings for burials, cremated remains interments and plaque orders as per the Department of Health guidelines.
- Meet with the public to provide advice and assistance in regard to selecting either a burial site or cremation memorial site by accompanying them to the relevant areas within the cemeteries as required.
- Provide correct, up to date and authoritative advice concerning different grave and cremation memorial options available for purchase and the associated fees.
- Sound understanding of financial practice and provide related administration functions.
- Attention to details and ability to solve problems
Frequent travel around the Mornington Peninsula is required as you will be visiting our Cemeteries, checking on maintenance, managing relationships and planning future works.
Flexibility in your work hours as you will occasionally need to attend to items such as meetings outside of traditional work hours.

- Solid knowledge of the principles of OH&S legislation or willingness to learn
- Up-to-date knowledge of Cemetery legislation and cemetery operations.
- Well-developed evaluation, analytics, and problem-solving skills
