Veterinary Receptionist

**About the role**

Peninsula Vet Emergency and Referral Hospital is located on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula. Our caring team provide specialist surgical, medical, and emergency veterinary care to small animals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We are looking for a part-time (approximately 20 hours per week) receptionist. The position involves working various shifts (day, evening and weekend) between the hours of 8am to 9pm Monday to Sunday, including public holidays.

The position includes the following responsibilities:

- Managing multiple incoming phone lines and directing calls
- Scheduling appointments and communicating booking requirements to clients
- Communicating patient arrivals and emergencies to clinical staff
- Liaising with referring vets to obtain patient histories
- Finalising invoices, processing client payments and balancing the till
- Maintaining a clean and presentable front of house
- Completing a variety of administration tasks

**About you**
- Minimum three years’ experience in a general receptionist role
- Ability to provide high levels of customer service
- Exceptional phone manner and communication skills
- A team player and ability to build positive relationships
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work efficiently and with initiative in a fast-paced environment
- A professional and positive demeanour
- Willingness to work varying rostered shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Previous veterinary experience is not a requirement for this position, but a passion for customer service is
