The YMCA operates more than 50 OSHC services that provide before and after school care for children as well as school holiday programs. We are now seeking a Regional Manager on a full-time basis for our OSHC Management Team based in our Stafford Office, however will be travelling across the different services when required.
The purpose of the Regional Manager position is to oversee Area Coordinator’s operations across the different zones, collaboratively working with the respective teams to optimise staff level, rosters, professional development, financial management, overall high quality of service delivery to all stakeholders and management of regulatory compliance. You will also be monitoring key staff performances and promote career development for our OSHC workforce.
**As a successful Regional Manager, you will be responsible for, but not limited to**:
- Manage and oversee daily operations of OSHC services with workforce management, compliance management and optimisation of the service(s)
- In conjunction with the Area Coordinators, develop contemporary programming in reflection of the Education and Care National Regulations, National Quality Framework and Industry Standards
- Oversee Area Coordinators and Coordinators to be aligned with legal obligations and more
- Operate in reflection of YMCA policies and procedures
- Provide guidance to Area Coordinators and Coordinators alike with upcoming Assessment and Rating as well as support with administration of child care subsidy
- Working with stakeholders relevant to the Strategic Inclusion Plan and the implementation of for each OSHC service
- Strategic planning for expansion, improvement as well as feedback from stakeholders
- Develop, review and implementation of policies relating to OSHC including staff promotion, professional development, industry updates and framework changes
- Compliance, auditing, budgeting for each OSHC service
- Incident management, troubleshooting and performance reviews
- Regular reports to the OSHC Manager with specific key performance indicators
- Liaise closely with administration office and collaborate in departmental matters such as HR, Marketing, Talent Acquisition, IT, HRIS and payroll
**To be considered for the Regional Manager position you must have**:
- A tertiary qualification in Community, Child Care, Teaching, Disability or equivalent or Diploma in Children’s Services and/or relevant experience and/or working towards a suitable qualification
- Demonstrated extensive experience in the management and delivery of high-quality children’s services
- Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of the risks associated with delivering child related services and the ability to identify opportunities to mitigate risk
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of applicable legislation, regulations and industry standards
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills including experience in writing reports and proposals
- Demonstrated significant staff management, coaching and leadership experience including the ability to develop and engage staff effectively
- Demonstrated budget and financial management skills
- Effective time management, prioritization and problem-solving skills
- An ability to work independently and in a team environment, coupled with the ability to achieve collaboration between stakeholders and manage group interactions effectively
- Proficient component skills in Microsoft Office Suite and systems;
- Current certification for First Aid, CPR, Asthma Management and Anaphylaxis Management;
- Current Open Driver’s Licence and Own Vehicle;
- Possess, or be willing to obtain, a Police Check Certificate or positive notice Blue Card in accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000;
- Achievement of YMCA’s Safeguarding Children Training Certificate and complete annual refresher training.
Desirable
- 5+ years in managing a mobile workforce in the children’s services or similar across different location
- Previous experience working in an Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) service or similar
