Trainee Wireless Field Technician

Train and develop into a competent and certified Wireless Field Technician.
- Physically fit to perform the role - lifting and some climbing
- Suit technically minded person with good IT skills & ability to use hand tools

This role is ideal for someone who is keen to grow a career in becoming a Wireless Technician who is competent in the technical installation of radio and transmission equipment into mobile phone Carrier (such as Optus, Telstra, TPG) and Utility company telecommunications sites.

- Fibre Techs looking to cross train in wireless communications

**What's important to us is that you**
- Have a NSW Current Drivers Licence - manual an advantage
- Have a White Card
- Are a good communicator with ability to follow instructions and ask questions
- Area willing to learn and a team player
- Have a good understanding of software - Microsoft suite essential
- Are physically fit to perform the role - lifting and some climbing, occasional driving long distances.
- Are competent in the safe use of hand tools
- Are able to travel intrastate and/or interstate as required.
- Ability and interest in being able to climb telecommunication infrastructure a big advantage

**What you'll be trained in**
- Formal training on Working at Heights
- Open Cabling licence
- Safety
- Carrier inductions
- TAFE qualifications will be considered on a case by case basis

**What you'll end up doing**
- Developing skills to perform telecommunications installation activities via on-the-job training and through certified training courses and client / vendor courses.
- Installation and commissioning telecommunications equipment for 4G / 5G / NBN / PMR and transmission systems such as Fiber, DWDM, IP and carrier ethernet systems.
- DC Power / battery systems upgrades and new installations.
- Assisting with installations, moves, additions, changes, maintenance, and repair support for customer telecommunications equipment.
- Assisting with the production of Handover Packs (HOP) and project completion documentation.
- Ensuring that OH&S Policy requirements are always observed and followed.
