About Us

Nighthawk Communications is a specialist fibre-optic and data cabling contractor servicing ISPs, developers, and commercial clients across Victoria. We design, install, and maintain fibre networks, FTTx systems, and internal structured cabling in MDUs, commercial sites, and residential builds.

We’re a small, professional crew that takes pride in doing quality work safely, efficiently, and to spec.

About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated Apprentice Data Cabler to join our team.

You’ll work alongside experienced technicians and learn all aspects of fibre and copper data cabling — from basic installation and testing to full-scale network commissioning.

What You’ll Learn
- Fibre optic splicing, termination, and testing
- Structured cabling (Cat6/6A/7) installation
- Pathways, conduits, and cable management
- Reading and interpreting network drawings
- Use of power tools and hand tools safely
- Working in comms rooms, risers, and MDUs
- EBA pay structure and site safety requirements

What We’re Looking For
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Reliable and punctual
- Current driver’s licence (P or full) preferred
- White Card (Construction Induction) required
- Genuine interest in communications, networking, or electrical trades
- Ability to work safely on active construction sites
