**Mechanical Engineering Technician**: The Mechanical Engineering Technician will be responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, calibrating, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment used in precast concrete plants, window and frame production plants, steel framing operations, and on-site construction activities. This role supports the reliability and efficiency of plant operations by performing preventive and corrective maintenance, calibrations, diagnostics, and technical analysis across a range of industrial systems.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Select appropriate tools, equipment, and test instruments to carry out mechanical maintenance, installation, and diagnostic procedures.
- Assemble, install, and modify new or existing mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools, hydraulic and pneumatic systems in line with engineering specifications.
- Estimate materials, spare parts, and equipment requirements for maintenance and installation activities.
- Perform and direct field and laboratory tests on mechanical systems and components, including calibration and validation of results.
- Collect and analyse operational and performance data; conduct mechanical calculations and prepare technical reports, diagrams, and maintenance documentation.
- Organise and supervise the inspection, routine servicing, and maintenance of plant machinery and equipment to prevent breakdowns and minimise downtime.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems across batching plants, concrete mixers, cement silos, production equipment, and material handling systems.
- Service and repair a wide range of tools and equipment including CNC machinery, crimping and punching tools, overhead cranes, forklifts, and concrete-related mechanical tools.Identify and diagnose faults in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems using industry-standard methods and technical drawings.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, inspection reports, and service logs to ensure compliance with audit and safety requirements.
- Assist engineers and plant supervisors in the installation, commissioning, and modification of new mechanical equipment and infrastructure.Ensure all maintenance activities and equipment comply with WHS standards, manufacturer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain technical support, parts, and updated service documentation.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including recommending modifications or design changes to improve system performance and operational efficiency.

**Requirements**:

- Diploma or higher qualifications in Engineering Disciplines (Mechatronics or Mechanical major is preferred)
- Two years experience in the fields.
- Experience in manufacturing plants (constructions) is highly regarded.

Pay: $76,850.00 per year
