**About the Role**:
Council’s Social Support Program provides older residents the opportunity to socialise in a group environment and enjoy lunch together. We are seeking a caring and empathetic kitchen assistant to plate and serve refreshments and meals to participants at our Leila Road Activity Centre.
You will be responsible for:
- Maintaining kitchen facilities to a high standard of cleanliness
- Serving meals and refreshments in accordance with food safety requirements
- Serving meals and refreshments in accordance with the program timetable
- Working in compliance with Council and Bayside Care and Support policies and procedures.
**Key Selection Criteria**:
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:
- An understanding of the needs of older people and people with a disability
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work individually and within a team
- A current Food Handling Certificate is desirable or willingness to obtain after commencement
- A current First Aid Certificate is required (or willingness to obtain after commencement)
**Mandatory pre-employment requirements**:
- Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check.
- Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check
- Be fully vaccinated with at least two approved COVID-19 vaccines or have proof of medical exemption
- Be willing to undertake a pre-employment functional capacity evaluation.
