**YMCA Vocational Schools** provide adjusted education programs and vocational training to secondary students, who would benefit from an alternative learning environment. The YMCA Vocational Schools draw on our fundamental values of honesty, responsibility, respect and care, to create a nurturing learning environment to support our students prepare for the future. **We are looking for a **Youth Worker VET (Vocational Education and Training) on a Ful-Time, 38 hours a week basis** to deliver well-being programs and lead on pastoral care of our students at our **Ipswich Senior Campus** **ABOUT US** The School is a "Special Assistance School" and offers courses assisting disengaged students in having a "Real Opportunity" to achieve their full potential through positive educational studies, activities and outcomes. We believe all young people have the right to achieve their full potential irrelevant of circumstance. **THE PERSON** The ideal applicant will be looking for a challenge, have a passion for working with young people, a strong interest in the development of the holistic person, a personal interest in health, spirituality and personal well-being. They will also have a commitment to a client-centred approach, creative and innovative youth work practice and a commitment to ongoing professional development. **More specifically you will be able to meet the following key selection criteria**: - Hold a Certificate III or above in Youth Work or other relevant tertiary qualification; - Be able to demonstrate relevant practical experience in providing program delivery, education support services and case management to marginalised young people; - A demonstrated ability to facilitate group programs and activities that are engaging and inspiring for young people; - Be able to demonstrate the importance of following procedures and ensuring a safe educational environment at all times; - An understanding of how to effectively support the individual well-being, academic and vocational needs of students; - Be able to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; - Hold or be willing to obtain a current Blue Card. ***INTERESTED?** **Our Commitment** We take our responsibility for keeping children and young people safe very seriously and are proudly an Australian Childhood Foundation Safeguarding Children Accredited Organisation.
