Think Thornbury is looking for a passionate retail assistant to join our rapidly growing family business over the busy holiday period (Nov - Jan), with the possibility to expand the role in the future.

We are seeking a passionate retail assistant to join our rapidly growing family run business to pick up extra shifts in our roster over the November - January busy summer holiday period. This role will be on a casual basis, with the flexibility to just pick up extra holiday work, or have the opportunity to potentially move to permanent part-time and/or 2IC work in the future.

We are looking for a team member who will be an ambassador for Think Thornbury. You will work closely with the Think Thornbury owners and staff to be a bright and confident member of the team. Availability on weekends and flexibility through December is essential for the successful applicant.

What you need:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Retail industry or comparable service industry
- Availability to work at least 2 days per week
- Must be available on Saturdays
- Ability to connect with customers in an authentic and personal way
- Fantastic customer service skills
- An understanding of POS operating systems. Vend & Shopify (training will be provided but prior experience with digital POS will be valued)
- Excellent communication skills: both written & verbal
- A love of locally made, well-designed products and an ability to communicate their unique value to our customers
- A shared understanding of who we are and what we do as a brand
- December availability & flexibility through our busiest month

- Design Skills (Knowledge of adobe creative suite)

Role responsibilities:

- Providing high class and personal customer service (check out out our google reviews)
- Running the shop independently
- Acquiring and retaining knowledge about independent makers
- Merchandising products according to the Think Thornbury aesthetic
- Opening and closing till
- General cleaning and tidying to ensure the store is a lovely place
- Keeping stock room neat and easily accessible
- Highly organised
- Gift wrapping
- Receiving and inputting stock
- Loss prevention
- Cultivating community & becoming a friendly face in the TT team
- Building customer relationships
- Working closely with the owners and other TT team members as necessary
- Ability to help customers select the right present for the right person
