Alexandria, Australia Flying Bark Productions Full time

Flying Bark is a Sydney-based world class animation studio, and we're on the hunt for experienced full time 2D FX Lead with CG/VFX experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Work closely with the Animation Director, CG FX Lead, VFX Supervisor and Client Director/s to establish and drive the look and animation of the visual FX for the series;
- Lead and produce scene specific and/or reusable frame-by-frame effects animation
- Structure FX tasks to create maximum reusability,
- Work alongside the CG FX lead to ensure that CG and 2D elements are complementary where required and fulfil all creative briefs for the series.
- Attend sequence briefs with the Client and Supervisors
- Carry out regular performance management with effects crew, guided by the Producer;
- Bid and Brief FX team at the start of each episode
- Review work daily and provide clear feedback to the crew to ensure that the creative and technical requirements for the Program/s is maintained;
- Work to deadlines as briefed by the Production crew, ensuring that any pressure points in the schedule are planned for;
- Direct, inspire and mentor all crew assigned to the effects department;
- Undertake FX animation reviews, ensuring quality control and consistency across the sequences, giving clear and nurturing direction to artists;
- Work cohesively within a team environment ensuring high levels of communication at all times;
- Attend regular meetings with the Production and Supervision crew to report on department and crew progress;
Skillset:

- Solid experience with effects animation in a 2D animation environment;
- Solid experience and understanding of Toon Boom Harmony, After Effects and other effects software in a production based environment;
- Solid knowledge of 2D animation workflows;
- Excellent communication skills and willingness to share information in a team environment;
- Passion for animation.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Alexandria, NSW 2015
