**Position Information**:
Hawkesbury High School is a comprehensive, co-educational high school, located in a semi-rural setting in the Hawkesbury District in Northwest Metropolitan Sydney. The school has 450 students in Years 7 - 12, including 14% Aboriginal students. The school has strong connections with the local community and it has a strong focus on academic, vocational and wellbeing programs. The school enjoys a strong and sustainable learning partnership with local primary schools. The successful applicant will work with an enthusiastic executive team, supportive staff and an engaged learning community that supports the social and academic development of all students.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria,
1. Demonstrated ability to lead whole school programs to support the needs of a diverse range of students.
2. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a highly visible member of a leadership team that creates high expectations for student success.
4. Capacity to lead the development of a vibrant and engaging school culture and promote authentic community partnerships that enhance learning opportunities for all students.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies

This is an Above Centrally Identified permanent teacher position established through
educational needs of the school. Should the funding or the requirement for the position
cease, the teacher will receive nominated transfer status; please refer to the Staffing
Procedure for the Teaching Service in NSW Public Schools for additional information.
