Located in Tallebudgera, St Andrew’s is a delightful residential aged care facility hosting 72 beds and wonderful residents. Surrounded by nature and the convenience of the southern Gold Coast St Andrews offers a welcoming Community.
**About the role**:
As Creative Lifestyle Coordinator, you will coordinate a client-centred, creative lifestyle program that engages all residents/clients in meaningful activities of their choice, promoting wellbeing and vitality. Additional responsibilities include:
- Assess individual residents’ needs with regard to their interests, social/cultural history and spiritual needs.
- Plan, implement and review individual activities with reference to assessed needs and preferences in collaboration with each resident.
- Initiate, coordinate, and evaluate group activities within Creative Lifestyle program.
- Encourage active participation in planning and implementation of programs by residents and their families.
- Encourage residents to maintain involvement with wider community through development and assessment of suitable opportunities to enhance this connection.
- Provide leadership to Creative Lifestyle Facilitators, support their ongoing professional development and build a strong effective team.
- ensure the Creative Lifestyle program has sufficient volunteer support.
- Supervise daily tasks of the volunteers working in the Creative Lifestyle area
- Organise functions for residents, staff and volunteers.
- Lead program documentation and collaborate with Communications and Marketing team to develop stories for promotion material.
This is a permanent, part time opportunity 45 hours per fortnight.
**About you**:
Critical to your success in this role is to:
- Possess a formal qualification relevant to the role such as diploma leisure and lifestyle/health, arts, drama, dance or music therapy, and occupational therapy.
- Have demonstrated experience in designing, facilitating and evaluating activities and events with small and large groups.
- Have demonstrated ability to supervise and communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals.
- Possess and maintain a current Australian Driver’s License and current First Aid Certificate
In addition, you will have:
- Experience leading and supervising volunteers
- Previous administration experience
- Previous experience working with older adults and people with dementia.
