Key Accountabilities:

- Offer efficient, evidence-based recommendations concerning medical information or the need to seek medical information, considering customer experience, regulatory compliance, and business requirements.
- Support liaison with treating parties and reinsurers on specific cases when required.
- Represent the Medical Team in business-as-usual engagements with assigned business units, maintaining a good working relationship between the two departments.
- Provide insights and data on health-related factors observed during medical reviews to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and guide the health strategy for the aligned business unit and across TAL.
- Engage effectively with TAL's Chief Medical Officer on complex medical matters and, when necessary, consult with external medical specialists.
- Support the review and development of medical definitions, guidelines, and training as needed.
- Analyse medical data to support pricing assumptions when required.
- Collaborate effectively with other Medical Officers to manage workloads and implement activities that ensure efficient and effective medical support to stakeholders.
- Work with the broader Health Services team to guide health strategy across the TAL business, including preventative health, health support, health processes, and TAL's overall health proposition.
- Report and manage risks identified during day-to-day activities.

**Qualifications**
- A medical degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical practice.
- Strong clinical reasoning skills, especially the ability to make well-reasoned and evidence-based choices in a timely manner.
- Ability to plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with team goals.
- Ability to adapt to changes and operate with agility. Commitment to continuous improvement in operational processes.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences and strong influencing skills to gain the support and commitment of others.
- Ability to create connections and work towards joint goals. Preference to work interdependently and the ability to support others in proactively identifying issues and opportunities to resolve them collaboratively.
- Displays resilience and maintains a positive attitude when facing difficult situations.
- Treating others fairly and equitably, managing differences of opinion respectfully, and actively participating in activities that build high team performance.
- Actively seeking new ways to grow and develop personal skills, knowledge, and behaviour in support of individual and team goals.
